India welcomes new state Telangana

On June 2nd 2014 Telangana, the 29th state of India, was born. Telangana, located in the Southern region of India, has been separated from the state Andhra Pradesh.

In the first decade after Indepence the political boundaries of India were redrawn. This changes now. The new prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, has given his support to the people and the government of the new state of India.

The new capital of Telangana, Hyderabad, will remain the capital of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for ten years.
